This policy explains what information Our Cozy Space collects when you use our website, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
When you read an article, we may collect limited usage information so we can understand which guides are useful. This can include:
- The article viewed and its title.
- A random session identifier stored only for the current browser session.
- The general referral source, such as Pinterest, Google, direct, or other.
- Whether a visit became engaged and whether a Pinterest save link was selected.
- A campaign or Pin identifier included in the link that brought you to the site.
If you use the contact form, we also collect the name, email address, and message you send so we can reply. We do not ask public visitors for postal addresses, payment information, or account details.
How we use information
We use the information above to measure readership, prevent duplicate counts, understand referral traffic, improve our guides, protect the site from abuse, and maintain reliable website operations. Contact form messages are used only to reply to you and to keep a record of the request.
Browser storage
Article pages use session storage to keep a random analytics identifier until you close the browser session. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. The site may also use security technology required to protect its services from automated abuse. We do not currently use advertising cookies or personalised advertising.
Services that process information
Our Cozy Space uses Google Firebase for hosting, database services, server functions, administrator authentication, and application security. Google may process technical information, including IP address, device, application, and security signals, when providing these services. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics collects usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, and referral source, and may use cookies or similar identifiers. Images may be delivered from Pexels. If your browser requests an image from Pexels, Pexels may receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser details. You can read the Pexels Privacy Policy.
If you choose a Pinterest link, you leave Our Cozy Space and Pinterest processes your visit under its own Privacy Policy.
Sharing and international processing
We share information with service providers only where needed to host, secure, measure, and operate the site. These providers may process information in other countries. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We keep analytics and security records only for as long as they remain reasonably necessary for the purposes described here or to meet legal obligations. We use access controls, secure connections, and managed cloud services to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may block browser storage through your browser settings, although some security or analytics features may then stop working.
